Steel is a hunting dog along with Tom and Billy. He is the leader of the three.

He helped his owner to hunt down dogs of Eijirou's pack, believing they were thieves. He greatly respects Tomon and refuses to invade his territory because of this.
He saves Toshi and Tomon by stopping his owner as he was about to shoot them. Before leaving with others, he tells Toshi to learn from his mistake.
