The Battōga (jap. 抜刀牙) is a name given to the sacred and secret technique of the wolf clans.
It's believed that each part of Battōga could have only one true user at the time. The true users of Battōga was known as hakkenshi of Sirius. They were the heirs and descendants of the original hakkenshi and users of the same technique.
The Battōga was well-respected and it was very forbidden to tell its secrets to non-wolves, despite the fact that some of the dogs could be (and were) true heirs of the original hakkenshi.
The Battōga techniques are powerful but usually take years to learn and many are even unable to learn them at all. However, it seems that the true users do not need much training, being the true heirs of the original users.
According to the legend, the Battōga originates from the meat of the monster Jaryūki. It's said that the meat gifted the hakkenshi with great powers.
